Inquiry:(the process of asking questions in order to seek, search, discover):
My inquiry started with me wondering how I could show the evolution a person makes while growing up. I decided to use story of 'Alice in Wonderland' to convey this idea. I started doing research on the story and read the book to help fully understand the story. As the story goes on, the colors of the characters get darker while Alice stays with her light blue dress and a positive curious attitude. I realized that my inquiry was too broad for the type of project I was doing and so I changed it. The new inquiry became how do colors change the way a person looks at different ideas or people.
Technical process:
I ordered a giant pocket watch off Amazon for my book cover. I then cut it in half using a box cutter to be able to put the book pages inside. I then made book pages using paper pulp and psychically making paper. I then went out and took pictures. I then printed them out at home on photo paper and cut out the main focus of the image. I then followed by glueing them on the handmade paper. I went to Joanns and got a couple different items to add on the pages to give them depth.

Critiques:
Two peer and one teacher constructive and specific criticisms in the following areas sensory (elements of art), formal/technical (organization/principles of design and use of materials/techniques) and expressive qualities (how does it connect to conceptual process).
-
SENSORY - Indigo suggested to be mindful of how much space I have to work with inside the clock
-
FORMAL/TECHNICAL - Greer suggested to be careful with repetition and pattern when creating the pages
-
EXPRESSIVE - Ms. Johnson suggested to think about what to have on the front of the clock.

Elements and Principles of Design:
-
Art Elements- I used texture in my project when I added the different objects I got from Joanns to give it depth and dimension.
-
Principal of Design- I used repetition of the colors that represented the characters because it was part of the main focus of the page.
